HEAVY-DUTY INDUSTRIAL IDLER PULLEYS
Since 1952, G&P Machinery has operated on a simple principle: build things that last and help the folks who use them. We know that in a foundry or a high-volume shop, a down machine isn't just a nuisance—it’s a loss of a day's work. Many of our customers call us looking for parts for machines that have been running since the 1970s. We take pride in that. Whether you are maintaining a legacy unit or building something new, our idler pulleys are designed to keep your belts tracking straight and your shop running smoothly.
DURABLE PULLEYS FOR INDUSTRIAL USE
We don’t cut corners on construction. Our industrial idler pulleys are machined from cast aluminum and equipped with heavy-duty, sealed-for-life ball bearings. These are the same components we use in our own machinery, including our equipment specialized for cylindrical grinding. They are built to handle the grit, heat, and high-tension demands of heavy manufacturing without frequent breakdowns.

Machined, cast aluminum pulleys equipped with heavy duty sealed-for-life ball bearings. Available sizes shown in chart below.
-Aluminum pulleys with keyway also available in 6" diameter x 3 1/4" or 4 1/4" width.
-Pulleys can be supplied with rubber covering.
-All pulleys are crowned. Belts won't track well if the crown is worn down.
-Pulleys can be recrowned for extended life.
TROUBLESHOOTING YOUR BELT TRACKING
If you are having trouble with your belts wandering, the issue is often the "crown."
-
Check the crown: All of our idler pulleys are crowned to keep the belt centered. Over years of hard use, that crown can wear down. If it looks flat, it's time for a replacement or a recrown.
-
Rubber covering: For shops working with specialized finishes or needing extra grip, we can supply pulleys with a rubber covering.
-
Keyway needs: We offer 6" diameter industrial idler pulleys with keyways in 3 1/4" or 4 1/4" widths for specific drive requirements.

A PARTNER FOR YOUR SHOP
At G&P Machinery, we are here to help you get the job done right. If you aren't sure which pulley size you need or if your current one can be saved, give us a call. We would rather spend twenty minutes on the phone helping you find the right answer than see you buy a part that doesn't solve your problem. We offer competitive pricing and maintain resale discounts for our dealer partners.
